Destin Market is turning around
August 18th, 2010 9:44 AM

There are 35% less listings on the market right now than this time last year.

If you were ever thinking about a great foreclosure or short sale you do need to move to start looking at properties now.

Destin Beaches WOW
August 4th, 2010 9:37 AM

Sitting this morning and thinking after a walk on the most beautiful Beaches that I know of.  I think WOW we are a Blessed City.

The Oil spill scared us all and the Oil slicks were viewed and came within five hundred feet of our shore line and never touched it. WOW we all organized and sprung into action to do what ever we needed to do to protect our Beaches to find out that really there was nothing we could do but clean it once it happen and that might take years. Then as I said before WOW God took care of it all and kept that Oil from our shores and it has all worked out .

Glory to God!

Yes that is correct,,the companies with the long term contracts have already started laying off team members as Destin and the emerald Coast have very few signs of tar chips in the sand,,,,they are keeping the 24 hour cleaners on the Beach there are just fewer of them,,,,

It sems as though since the well is capped we have not gotten any new oil at all. We will keep you posted,,,,

Low Condo and house Prices in Destin due to Oil Spill
July 21st, 2010 12:34 PM

Prices have been falling in Destin. Contracts have been falling out due to the Oil Spill.

Buyers need to beware of the prices and try to buy a great deal right now before the clean up is over and the prices are gone.Foreclosures and short sales are about gone,,,

Renters have not been here but they are missing a great time as the beaches are beautiful.

Call me for some great deals on short sales, foreclosures,,and just I need to sell units.

Mike Huckabee Bp Oil spill , help in Destin
July 16th, 2010 10:30 AM

While in Destin for the 4th of July on 30A where Mike owns a home he was out eating when a Lady ask him why the govt would not allow other countries to help with the BP Oil Clean up but yet had 4000 people walking up and down the beach doing nothing for at least $18.00 an hour each some as high as $40.00 per hour???

I am not going to tell you how he responded but I say Lady,,,you should be glad we have any help at all,,,and those people working are in our area spending the money they make eating out maybe at your resturant giving you a tip,,,and paying their Bills ,,is helping our area to survive,,as well as your business,,,

I am distressed over the Spill,,but I am also thankful that we are as Blessed as a City can be,,and the extra help of any kind is better than nothing,,,(which some areas are getting) and the influx of jobs help our area businesses make it through a hard time,,and the people working survive. It cleans the Beaches so the Vacationers can come ,,and be happy with their stay,,,I can image all the Tar Balls that would be ont he Beach if it were not being cleaned...

Crews cleaning the Beach 22 hours a day in Destin
July 14th, 2010 11:25 AM

Trained Oil spill clean up crews are on the Beach in Destin Floirda and along the Panhandle 22 hours a day,,they are bused in to different locations and they walk the Beaches from 6am until 5pm and then another crew hits the sand from 6pm until 5 am,,,they have portable facilities ,,and have dinner and Lunch on the Beach.

They walk in Teams of Three ,,,they have Gloves, on their and hands and Shields on their shoes for protection and use a scooper to pick up the Tar Balls. The night crews have Head lights in Blue and Red in order not to scare off the Wild Life such as sea turtles, etc. They carry garbage Bags and have a tractor trailer falling Teams of about 50 so the Bags may be loaded,,,,

In front of each Team of about 50 at night you have Teams of Two with shovels knocking down the sand castles of the day etc so that the Teams of Three behind them are safe and do not fall .

Soon they will Cap that Oil Spill and the News will follow another story and we will continue with our clean up,,and The Emerald Cost will persevere!

Oil Rig Manager Quotes on capping the Flow.
July 9th, 2010 2:31 PM

I have recently interviewed an Oil Rig Manager working with the company for 24 years now. He was told right after the Break that the line would not be capped as they would lose their permit at that time,,,They are recovering enough Oil to collect about $4,000,00.00 per day.

That my friends is what  they are using to pay workers to clean, etc,,,They will not lose the permit with the alternate drill . They will then collect even more money. Then they will cap the Break,,,

What does BP have in America,,a line of money flowing to them and that is all they care about,,,,they sell us Gas,,,and Drill for our Oil other than that they could care less about us,,,,or our spill,,,wild life ,,,etc,,,

Help for the Oil Spill is on its way!
July 2nd, 2010 11:12 AM

The Taiwanese-Ship  is the length of 3 1/2 football fields and stands 10 stories high. It just emerged from an extensive retrofitting to prepare it specifically for the Gulf, where officials hope it will be able to suck up as much as 21 million gallons of oil-fouled water per day. Maybe this will help us here on the coast and get that mess cleaned up as it comes out of the ground.

lenders use deeds in lieu
June 30th, 2010 3:30 PM
Lenders use deeds-in-lieu to clear out inventory

WASHINGTON – June 30, 2010 – Thanks to new federal programs that offer cash incentives, some lenders are turning to deeds-in-lieu as the best solution for underwater borrowers willing to turn over their properties.

It’s cheaper for lenders to do deeds-in-lieu because it gives them overnight control of the property. With mortgage rates at less than 5 percent, lenders believe that they can resell a property faster and on more favorable terms than they would receive going through a short sale.

An expert in short sales and deed-in-lieu deals for Bank of America, says his company is offering cash incentives that range from $3,000 to $15,000 to persuade troubled borrowers to sign on.

Deeds-in-lieu don’t harm a borrower’s credit rating as much as a foreclosure or a bankruptcy, but because they are treated as debts that are “not paid as agreed,” they do leave a mark on credit scores.

Customers Bill ^ Beckey Ewing state feet oily after walk on beach
June 29th, 2010 10:06 PM

Customers that are selling their Grand Caribbean Dunes Unit at a loss because of the market came in yesterday and said they took an evening walk on the beach Sunday Night and they had to step over what looked like round circles of gloup

What ever that is,,,,It was hard for them to describe,,,they said when the walk was over they had to wash their feet with Dawn dishwashing liquid,,,someone had left a bottle by the showers on the beach so I guess all who visited at the Caribbean Dunes Access experienced this,,,,

All in All we have had a great spring and good start to summer at the beach with the Oil gushing millions of gallons of oil since April 20th,,it is bound to give us some effects,,,,

Great time to get some good prices on our vacation properties,,,Destin will always be the place to vacation,,,get them while the getting is good,,,Just like storms ,,,we will recover,,,,our sand is still white,,our water is still blue green,,and when the tar comes in we get it up and will continue to do so,,,,You better get these prices while they are hot and Come on down you will enjoy the beach just as much or more,,the traffic is lighter,,,,
